A life with art
I chose my parents well.
With a printmaker, painter mother and a banker, turned writer father, I grew up in a cocoon of art. Fellow artists often gathered at our home and exhibition openings were a regular family outing. As a child I remember happy days spent drawing, painting, playing with mud and exploring the bush near our home.... well not much has changed!
Today my passion for art continues. I spend most of my time in my studio experimenting with alternative firing techniques, using local organic materials to create unique Saggar and Raku fired ceramics. When not knee deep in clay you will find me at the easel, painting with oil and mixed media.
I feel a deep connection to nature and my local environment. I let intuition guide me to abstract these feeling into my work.
“I have always been fascinated and inspired by natures patterns, the marks created by the flow of time and the process of weathering.”
